ACRE Project

The Area Collaborative Research & Education (ACRE) Project started as a collaboration between (ARED) Alaska Resource and Economic Development, Inc., Clatsop County Fisheries (then Clatsop Economic Development Council), the Warrenton-Hammond School District and Warrenton High Fisheries, Inc.  The collaboration began with a memorandum of agreement signed in 2006 that initiated a sharing and licensing of proprietary fisheries related technology, an enhancement of secondary education and information sharing.  It was from this small step that spurned the idea of partnering with federal, state, local and tribal governments and private partners to enhance secondary education while contributing usable research to science.
